ID2PDF — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 September 2026

Applies to: ID2PDF for iPhone and iPad

In short: ID2PDF works entirely offline. It does not create an account, does not track you, and makes no network connections. Everything you scan or create — photos, generated PDFs, templates, and field values — is stored only on your device. No data is ever sent to us or to any third party. Deleting the app, or using "Reset All Data" inside it, permanently removes all of it.

1. Who we are

ID2PDF is developed and published by Pietro Valerio Giuranna ("we", "us"), the data controller for the purposes of this policy.

For any question about this policy or about your data, contact: developer.giuranna@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

ID2PDF does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. The app performs no network requests of any kind and has no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking components.

2.1 Data you create inside the app (stored locally only)

To provide its features, the app saves the content you produce on the device itself:

DataWhere it's storedPurpose
Photos/scans of your documentsApp's Documents folder, as JPEG filesCompose the PDFs you generate
Generated PDFsApp's Documents folderPreview, print, and share
Templates (text, logo, layout settings)JSON files in the app's Documents folderReuse the same document layouts
Field values you fill in (e.g. name, date, place)JSON files in the app's Documents folderComplete the declarations defined in a template
Preferences (JPEG quality, default template)iOS UserDefaultsPersonalize the app's behaviour

This information stays on your device until you delete it yourself — individually, through "Reset All Data" in Settings, or by uninstalling the app. It is never uploaded to us.

ID2PDF is also built to scan identity documents such as ID cards, driver's licenses, and passports — particularly sensitive personal data. Precisely because of this, the app has no automatic function that sends these files anywhere: you alone decide if and where a generated PDF is shared, using the standard iOS share sheet. Treat these files with the same care you would a paper photocopy.

2.2 Data the app does not access

3. Permissions the app requests

You can review and revoke either permission at any time from iOS Settings → ID2PDF.

4. Data you choose to export or share

ID2PDF lets you print a PDF (AirPrint) or share it, or export/import templates as JSON backup files, using the standard iOS share sheet — Files, AirDrop, Mail, Messages, and similar destinations.

Once you send a file to another app or service through the share sheet, that copy is governed by the privacy policy and settings of the destination you selected, not by this policy. We never receive that file.

5. Third parties

ID2PDF contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics providers, no advertising networks, and no external services. Because the app sends no data anywhere, there are no third-party recipients to whom a data-protection commitment would need to apply.

5.1 Apple platform services

ID2PDF is distributed through the Apple App Store and runs entirely on Apple's operating system, using only Apple's own frameworks (VisionKit, PDFKit, PhotosUI). We do not integrate any in-app purchases or subscriptions. If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS may include ID2PDF's on-device files in your encrypted device backup as part of the standard operating-system backup. That backup is managed entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy; we have no access to it. You can exclude the app from iCloud Backup in the iOS Settings app.

6. No international data transfers

Because the app never transmits any data to servers of ours or of any third party, we do not carry out any transfer of personal data to third countries.

7. Consent and how to withdraw it

Because the app collects no data and transmits nothing, there is no data-processing consent to give or to withhold, and no feature depends on granting one. You remain in full control: you decide what to scan, what to export, and what to delete. Camera and Photos access can be revoked at any time from iOS Settings without losing access to the rest of the app.

8. Data retention and deletion

9. Your rights

Data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR give you rights to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. With ID2PDF you can exercise all of these directly on your device: your data is fully visible in the app, editable at any time, exportable as a JSON backup, and permanently deletable by removing items or uninstalling the app. We cannot fulfil a data request on your behalf because we neither hold nor can access your data.

10. Children's privacy

ID2PDF is not directed specifically at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age, because it does not collect personal data at all.

11. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above before or when the change takes effect. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store listing.
