Privacy Policy — Easydeadlines
In short: Easydeadlines does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
Everything you enter — deadlines, categories, notes, reminders — is stored only on your device. The app has no account system, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDKs. It makes no network connections of its own.
The only external interactions are optional, system-level features handled by Apple (local notifications and Calendar), and they run only when you explicitly ask for them.
This policy explains, explicitly and in full, what data the app handles, who else is involved, and how the data is retained and deleted — as required by Apple's App Review Guideline 5.1.1. Where the honest answer is "nothing" or "only on your device", we say so directly rather than leaving it implied.
1. What data we collect and how
We do not collect any data. Nothing you enter into Easydeadlines is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no way to access it.
1.1 Data you create in the app (stored on your device only)
To do its job, the app stores the content you type in, on your device:
- Deadlines: title, notes, category, expiry date, reminder settings, recurrence settings, archive and "pinned" status, creation date.
- Categories: name, icon, and default reminder preferences.
- App preferences: global reminder time, onboarding completion, and similar local settings.
This information is saved in a local database (Apple's SwiftData / SQLite) inside a private App Group container on your device (group.gabrielegiuranna.deadlines), shared only between the Easydeadlines app and its Home Screen widget on the same device. It is never uploaded anywhere by the app.
1.2 Data we do not collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or account credentials — there is no sign-up and no login.
- No location data.
- No contacts, photos, or files beyond what you explicitly import or export yourself.
- No usage analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, device identifiers, or advertising identifiers.
- No cookies or web tracking of any kind.
2. Device features that require your permission
Some optional features use iOS capabilities that require your consent. You grant this consent through the standard iOS permission prompts, and you can withdraw it at any time in the iOS Settings app (see Section 6). None of the app's features depend on granting any of these permissions.
2.1 Local notifications
If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications through Apple's UserNotifications framework. These are created and delivered entirely on your device. No reminder content leaves the device and none of it is sent to us.
2.2 Calendar (optional)
If you choose to sync a deadline to your calendar, the app uses Apple's EventKit framework to create or update an all-day event in a dedicated local calendar named "Easydeadlines". This happens only on your explicit action. The event data is handled by iOS and stored according to your device and iCloud settings; the app itself does not transmit it anywhere.
2.3 Importing and exporting your data
You can export a single deadline (a .easydeadline file) or a full backup (a JSON file) and share it using the standard iOS share sheet, and you can import such files back into the app. These files are created only when you ask, and you alone choose where they go (Files, AirDrop, Messages, email, etc.). Once a file leaves the app through the share sheet, its handling is governed by the destination service you picked, not by Easydeadlines.
3. Third parties
Easydeadlines contains no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, or tracking code. The only third party involved is Apple, and only for:
- distributing the app through the App Store;
- the system frameworks that power notifications, Calendar, and (if you enable it at the OS level) device backup.
Apple processes this information as an independent data controller under its own terms. To the extent Apple receives any data in connection with the app, Apple is contractually and legally bound to protections at least equivalent to those described in this policy. See Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
We do not share data with any other parties, because we do not have your data to share.
4. iCloud and device backup
Easydeadlines does not use iCloud sync and does not communicate with iCloud itself. However, if you have iCloud Backup (or an encrypted local backup) enabled in iOS, the app's on-device database is included in that backup along with your other app data. That backup is created, encrypted, and managed by Apple under Apple's terms — the app has no involvement in it and cannot read it.
5. Children's privacy
Easydeadlines is a general-audience productivity app. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
6. Data retention, deletion, and withdrawing consent
6.1 Retention
Because your data lives only on your device, it is retained for exactly as long as you keep it there. We hold nothing and therefore retain nothing.
6.2 Deleting your data
- Individual items: delete any deadline or category directly in the app.
- Everything: deleting the Easydeadlines app from your device permanently removes its local database and all associated data. There is nothing further for you to request from us, because we have no copy.
- Calendar events: events the app added to your "Easydeadlines" calendar remain in the iOS Calendar until you remove them. Delete them in the app before uninstalling, or remove the "Easydeadlines" calendar in the Calendar app afterwards.
- Exported files: any backup or share files you created and saved elsewhere must be deleted by you from wherever you stored them.
- Device backups: if you use iCloud or local backups, a copy of the app's data may persist in those backups until they are overwritten or deleted through iOS settings.
6.3 Withdrawing consent
You can revoke any permission you previously granted, at any time, without losing access to any feature:
- Notifications: iOS Settings → Notifications → Easydeadlines.
- Calendar: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars → Easydeadlines.
- iCloud Backup: iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup.
7. Your rights
Data-protection laws such as the EU/UK GDPR give you rights to access, correct, export, and delete your personal data. With Easydeadlines you can exercise all of these directly on your device: your data is fully visible in the app, editable at any time, exportable as a JSON backup, and permanently deletable by removing items or uninstalling the app. We cannot fulfil a data request on your behalf because we neither hold nor can access your data.
8. Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated before or at the time the change takes effect, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store listing.
