Aviotools — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Applies to: Aviotools for iPhone and iPad

In short: Aviotools works entirely offline. It does not create an account, does not track you, and makes no network connections. Everything you enter — aircraft, mass & balance data, checklists, navlogs and the frequency book — is stored only on your device. No data is ever sent to us or to any third party. Deleting the app deletes all of its data.

1. Who we are

Aviotools is developed and published by Pietro Valerio Giuranna ("we", "us"), the data controller for the purposes of this policy.

For any question about this policy or about your data, contact: developer.giuranna@gmail.com.

2. What data we collect

Aviotools does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. The app performs no network requests of any kind and has no analytics, advertising, crash‑reporting or tracking components.

2.1 Data you create inside the app (stored locally only)

To provide its features, the app saves the information you enter on the device itself. This can include:

This information is stored on your device using standard iOS local storage (app preferences storage and JSON files inside the app's private container). It is not readable by other apps and is never uploaded to us.

2.2 Data the app does not access

3. How your data is used

Data you enter is used solely on your device to perform the calculations and to display, store and organise the content you asked the app to keep (mass & balance results, checklists, navlogs, PDF navlog export, frequency book, backups). There is no server‑side processing and no profiling.

4. Data you choose to export or share

Aviotools lets you manually export your data as a JSON backup file, and to export a navlog as a PDF. When you use these features you choose the destination through the standard iOS share sheet (for example Files, AirDrop, Mail, Messages or iCloud Drive).

Once you send a file to another app or service, that copy is governed by the privacy policy and settings of the destination you selected (for example Apple iCloud, or your mail provider), not by this policy. We never receive that file.

Importing a backup is done by you, from a file you select. Import only adds or updates entries and never transmits anything.

5. Third parties

Aviotools contains no third‑party SDKs, no analytics providers, no advertising networks and no external services. Because the app sends no data anywhere, there are no third‑party recipients to whom a data‑protection commitment would need to apply.

5.1 Apple platform services

Aviotools is distributed through the Apple App Store and runs on Apple's operating system. We do not integrate Apple's App Store / StoreKit purchasing, and the app has no in‑app purchases or subscriptions. If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS may include Aviotools' on‑device data in your encrypted device backup as part of the standard operating‑system backup. That backup is managed entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy; we have no access to it. You can exclude the app from iCloud Backup in the iOS Settings app.

6. Consent and how to withdraw it

Because the app collects no data and transmits nothing, there is no data‑processing consent to give or to withhold, and no feature — free or paid — depends on granting one. You remain in full control: you decide what to type in, what to export, and what to delete. To stop all local storage, delete the entries inside the app or remove the app (see section 7).

7. Data retention and deletion

8. Children's privacy

Aviotools is a reference and training tool for pilots and is not directed to children. It collects no personal data from anyone, regardless of age.

9. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above before or when the change takes effect. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store listing.
